War On Christmas 2015

12/18/15  WARNING: MAY BE TOO GRAPHIC FOR CHILDREN!!

At 12:25 AM, police were called by horrified holiday carolers to a grisly scene at the casting pond in Westmoreland Park in SE Portland. The victim was positively identified after a corncob pipe was found in nearby bushes. A plain, tall, red paper beverage cup with a distinctive green logo was left mockingly at the water's edge as a macabre calling card. Rudolph, Santa, The Little Drummer Boy, and Charlie Brown's Christmas Tree are all now under the witness protection program. Trained mental health professionals are on stand by to help the public cope with this gruesome event. Investigators are reportedly questioning top executives at a large ultra-secretive, vehemently anti-festive corporation headquartered in Seattle, Washington.

AUGUST 4, 1927 - AUGUST 11, 2013

8/11/2014

It has been more than a year since my last post. It wasn't because the events of the past year wasn't post worthy. It is just that life has the tendency to call first dibs on any free time not already spoken for by work or family obligations, leaving little time for putting words to self reflections. Time flies. One year, ten years, and then a life time have passed before you are really ready for it.

Eighty six years and seven days was my father's tenure on Earth, his life time. Since his passing, without regards to time and place, any manner of thoughts and feelings will suddenly take over my being. Often without warning, I would find myself tearing up and feeling profoundly sad for the loss.

I miss you, dad.
